It’s good to be true to yourself — learn as much as you can while still alive

I wanted to publish this article quite early in the year, but I totally forgot and had a lot of things to contend with. Then, the title was just “New year — life continues” then it changed, and now it’s back to what it is. I wanted to pass the message across that it is fine not to exactly have resolutions but to continue to grow in learning.

I’d still do just that anyway. Only that this time, the title has changed slightly. You can tell that, right? Plus, I wanted to hone my writing skills again.

I have never really been a fan of the popular “New year, new beginning” mantra that has plagued the minds of many all through my stay here on earth. But it’s good to know that so many people at least have something to look forward to.

It’s hard now to say that this year would mean the same to these people bearing the circumstances of lock-down all over the world. There have been a lot of odd feelings about the global pandemic that surfaced across nations months ago and has caused us all to become a shadow of ourselves. The streets are calm, roads clear and businesses shut.

In any case, I am glad that the year manifested itself in an interesting way. It has allowed us, as people to learn from our vulnerability, albeit costly and adapted to a new sense of community and society. Like me, many that may be reading this piece are unsure about the future.

One thing I know for sure, is that we can continue to grow in learning while we await a new world. It’s good to be true to yourself — learn as much as you can while still alive. I am a student of knowledge and all I desire, is to make my stay here count.
